Internships

Internships provide an outstanding opportunity for students passionate about public service and interested in pursuing a career in government.

The Office of Representative David Rouzer offers internships in Washington, DC, and North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District, allowing students to gain firsthand experience in the legislative process and constituent services. The ideal candidate is highly organized, able to multitask, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. This experience will help interns develop a deeper understanding of Congress and its role in serving Americans.

Intern responsibilities vary by location but typically include welcoming constituents, conducting Capitol tours, answering phone calls, supporting legislative research, drafting constituent correspondence, and assisting with front office and administrative tasks to help ensure smooth office operations. Interns serving in the district office will gain valuable insight into how congressional representatives assist constituents with federal casework issues, while also being exposed to policy discussions and current events in Washington, DC, and around the world.

The Office of Representative David Rouzer is accepting Fall 2026 internship applications through August 21, 2026. Interested candidates should complete the internship application below and indicate their preferred office location.
