Immigration and Border Security
President Biden and House Democrats' policies have not addressed the ongoing border crisis. In October alone, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehended 164,303 illegal immigrants attempting to cross our southern border, the highest number of apprehensions for October on record. Additionally, an unthinkable amount of fentanyl and fentanyl-related substances are coming across our border—enough to kill every American 7 times over. My colleagues and I will continue to push back on this Administration and encourage them to reverse course. Congress must secure our border and keep our communities safe!

H.R. 5854 – Illegal Immigrant Payoff Prohibition Act: This legislation would prevent the Attorney General from making settlement payments to individuals and families who entered the United States illegally. (Since this bill was introduced and due to all the publicity that was generating significant pushback from the public, the Biden Administration has backed off their ridiculous proposed settlement agreement that would have paid each illegal immigrant involved in this case almost half a million dollars.)
Letters
I sent a letter to Attorney General Garland, Secretary of Health and Human Services Becerra, and Secretary of Homeland Security Mayorkas expressing opposition and alarm to reports that settlements could be paid to individuals and families crossing the border in 2018.
I sent a letter to House and Senate leadership in opposition to including immigration provisions in the budget reconciliation package.
I sent a letter with 20 House Republicans to Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas requesting documents and information on the influx of illegal immigrants into the US.
Discharge Petitions
H.Res. 216 – Should a majority of members sign on, this would force a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives on a bill requiring the administration to continue using Title 42 to prevent the admission of unlawful aliens as long as the Public Health Emergency is in effect. Title 42 expulsions are removals by the U.S. government of persons who have recently been in a country where a communicable disease was present.
H. Res. 673 – Should a majority of members sign on, this would force a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives on a bill requiring the Secretary of Homeland Security to implement the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), or the Remain in Mexico Program. MPP is a program implemented by the Trump Administration that required certain aliens entering or seeking to enter the United States from Mexico to remain outside of the United States for the duration of their immigration proceedings.
