Here's a great story: President Trump singled out a Wilmington business during his news conference yesterday, discussing how the Paycheck Protection Program is a "game changer" for employers. The President specifically mentioned Amy Wright from Wilmington, who is the founder of Bitty & Beaus coffee. We highlighted Amy and her employees in this newsletter last week. They have already put their PPP dollars to use rehiring employees.See the President's comments here.
For today's good news story, I'm highlighting World War II veteran and retired Navy nurse Annis Weir, who celebrated her 99th birthday in style by parading up and down the streets of her neighborhood in the back of her car, as her friends and neighbors made signs and cheered her on. It's a great example of how we're not letting the COVID-19 outbreak stand in the way of paying tribute to great Americans.
