Rouzer Statement on President Biden's State of the Union Address

  • Washington, DC Office

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman David Rouzer (NC-07) tonight issued the following statement after President Joe Biden delivered the State of the Union Address:

"The President’s speech tonight was in denial of reality.  The truth is we are paying a lot more for everything because of excessive spending enacted when President Biden and Democrats had total control of Congress leading to rampant inflation.

"Because of President Biden’s open border policies our streets are unsafe and drugs are pouring into our communities.  Meanwhile, because of this Administration’s inept and weak foreign policy, liberty and freedom are in retreat and tyranny is on the march, including the terrorists crossing our border.  The world is as unstable and dangerous as it has ever been.

"The President can double down on these policies all he wants, but he does so at the expense of the country and his own political peril."

To highlight the impact of President Biden's open-border policies, Congressman Rouzer invited Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker as his guest to the State of the Union.

"As Sheriff of Bladen County, I have a front row seat to President Biden's open-border policies that are fueling a drug and crime crisis impacting the local communities across our county, state, and country," said Sheriff McVicker.  "Families and communities have lost loved ones, crime is on the rise, and our law enforcement is not receiving the support needed to combat these problems.  I’m honored to attend the State of the Union alongside Congressman Rouzer to encourage President Biden to listen to those on the front lines and work to keep America safe."
